In Psalms 50:7-15 the psalmist,
speaking as God reminds us that nothing on this earth is out of the dominion of
God. Everything is his. While this is not necessarily the intended teaching of
this passage, it is a great reminder that nothing on this earth belongs to us;
all of it is God’s. Is this fact something you think about often?
Let me challenge you to think of all
things in this way. When you do it will change and shape the way you approach
life. You will see all as blessings from God. It might cause you to take better
care of the possessions which God has entrusted into your care because they are
His and not yours. Remembering that all belongs to God and you are just a
caretaker might even cause you to be a little more generous as God has been
with you. I wonder how that might impact the world we life in.
